Influenced by artists such as Laura Marling, Anna von Hausswolff and Siv Jakobsen William pitches his sound as bridging the gap between Bob Dylan and The Japanese House, capturing a melancholy vibe alongside his strong vocals. Bishop's EP 'Second Time Around' received critical acclaim from LA Voice Music & William Bishop has received further coverage from Fame Magazine & Divide and Tinnitist music blogs. In 2009, he played at Tallinn Music Week. On 17 July he performed at the 2000 Trees Festival in the UK. In the same month, Bishop played in Sweden’s Live at Heart Festival for the second year running and received 500,000 streams for the release of Oto Recordings. His work has been featured on the Indie Voice Music blog, by LA music critic Bob Leggitt, and elsewhere. He released many demos and EPs in their early days when playing the London circuit in the UK. Second Time Around was produced by Crimson Studios in Arundal in 2019 and he toured the UK shortly afterwards. The Night in Your Eyes was played on French and British national stations and featured in Darryl Stenúður's Tinnitist alongside The Tallest Man On Earth and Bonnie Prince Billy. He played at the festival and then returned to be the UK to record Waves on Wire (2020). The studio album was produced by Isaac McInnis. The record is fairly light in its instrumentation, while William Bishop's voice is mostly performance; Bishop's album as an example of minimalism in contemporary music.
