VIMMA's new single "Kapina on kuumaa” encourages listeners to follow their hearts. To do what feels right, and avoid wasting life on procrastination. This folk-flavoured pop-punk song instills faith and inspires action, urging people to take bold steps towards their passions and beliefs. With this song the band wants to honor the long history of protesting on Mannerheimintie in front of the Parliament House in Finland. Violinist Pessi Jouste explains: "A couple of years ago we performed in this exact same spot at the Elokapina (XR Finland) protest. It felt then that some kind of upheaval was imminent. With this song we manifest that same feeling.” The band also wants to normalize fighting injustice and activism. VIMMA says: "There is a genocide in Gaza, there is a racist government with a far-right party in Finland, whose austerity politics are destroying lives of countless people. And of course the eco-crisis. In these times, you can't just let it all slip through your fingers. That's why the REBELLION IS HOT.” *** VIMMA is one of the most interesting names in the Finnish indie music scene. The seven-piece band's music combines indie rock, art pop and ethno with powerful lyrics about environmental activism. VIMMA has released two albums: Meri ja avaruus (Eclipse Music, 2019) and Tornadon silmässä (Nordic Notes, 2023). The band was awarded as Newcomer of the Year at the 2020 Etnogala and nominated at the 2023 Emma Gaala on the Critics' Choice category.
