The Regime
R&B / Funk / Soul
The Regime is a NFP music-collective formed in 2017 by brothers Liam (singer, producer) and Matt Stacey (guitar, multi instrumentalist), and Ziggy Tockuss (rapper, singer), brought together in a communal squat-house in Sydney’s inner-west
Following a series of divine offerings and psychedelic promptings, the trio legitimately rented an abode dubbed as the first of many ‘Regime HQ’s’, intentionally established as a breeding ground for all things funky.
Channeling the cosmic blueprint of George Clinton’s Parliament-Funkadelic, the group draws deep from the soul of Motown, the revolutions of Sly Stone, and the genre-bending production of Gorillaz. Infused with the raw energy and innovation of '90s hip-hop, they’ve crafted a musical experience that transcends time. With an expansive collective of over 45 musicians, they’ve assembled a sonic powerhouse, recording an ensemble that’s as vast and multifaceted as their influences.
The Regime’s open-door-hippy-circus-party-Church philosophy magnetised Sydney’s underground elite, forming a skin-tight production team with core instrumentalists Danny G (trumpet, keys), Andrew Chara (keys), Alex Sullivan (drums), Ross Middleton (sax), laying the foundation that is the unmistakable sound of The Regime.
The Regime has toured with a record number of 27 musicians (33 including backup dancers), playing Festivals such as Byron Blues Festival, Splendour in the Grass, Party in the Paddock etc etc
