THE COUNTESS OF FIFE is an Edinburgh-based alt-country project led by Fay Fife of Rezillos fame. Fay initiated THE COUNTESS OF FIFE as a writing project in 2016. The project then evolved into a fully-fledged recording and touring outfit with a flexible line up based around core collaborators. Fay in her alter ego of The Countess of Fife released her debut solo album STAR OF THE SEA on Nov 11th, 2022 (initially CD & downloads only). It is now available as as fully fledged vinyl - available through Glasgow label Last Night from Glasgow (LNFG) . Fay’s approach to alt-country music takes the genre to warped frontiers of a previously unheard terrain: urban grit and a touch of punk combine with soulful, tender melodies and rambunctious rhythms.
