The Browns

The Browns are singer-songwriters who started singing together in 2018 after reconnecting in 2015. They met as teenagers at a school dance but lost touch after arrangements for their first date went awry, but the intervening years have given them plenty of material for their songs. Their musical collaboration grew organically when Annie began adding harmonies to Vernon’s singing (if you can’t beat ‘em, join ‘em!) and they started writing songs to showcase the harmonies and unique sound that left-handed Vernon creates playing his acoustic guitar upside down. The Browns have played on stage at festivals around Norfolk, including Deepdale Festival in North Norfolk, Cromer’s Folk on the Pier, and King’s Lynn’s Folk in the Town as well as festivals further afield such as Bedford River Festival. As well as playing live for West Norfolk Radio and appearing on Blues and Roots Radio, Wey Valley Radio, and other programmes, they have taken the stage at Cambridge Folk Club, Bury Folk Collective and at venues in and around Norwich.
