Thang Ho is a Vietnamese-American artist, composer, and mental health advocate whose journey from a low-income immigrant upbringing in San Diego to Harvard’s music scene is marked by resilience and vision. Born in Vietnam and raised in City Heights by a single mother, Thang became valedictorian of Crawford High School and the first in a decade to attend an Ivy League. At Harvard, he studies the intersection of Computer Science, Psychology, and Music while continuing his advocacy work.
In 2025, Thang released his debut album, Thắng’s Book of Spells, a cinematic alt-pop concept album weaving mythology, love, and reincarnation into a seven-spell arc. The project earned him the Hugh F. MacColl Prize for Best Original Musical Composition—Harvard’s top music honor—just two months into his journey as a composer.
Inspired by Vietnamese folklore, Greek mythology, and spiritual themes, Thang’s music blends poetic lyricism with cinematic soundscapes. He’s also the founder of Production Spells, an unofficial label helping fellow student artists release music professionally. His long-term vision includes building stars—not just becoming one—through digital personas like his AI vocal duo, Adam and Eve.
With viral visuals and mythic storytelling, Thang is crafting a musical universe that feels both ancient and future-facing.
