With their high energy, live performances, and raw, animalistic studio recordings, Tallah set themselves apart from many other acts that emerged alongside them. Beginning in 2018, Max Portnoy formed the unit, recruiting vocalist Justin Bonitz, and lead guitarist Derrick Schneider. In 2020, the band released their debut album “Matriphagy” through Earache Records and introduced rhythm guitarist Alex Snowden to the band. Their sound had been cited as a fresh and modern revamp of 90s nu-metal, with fans coining the term “nu-core” as a label for the bands sound. The band toured heavily throughout 2021 before releasing their Sophomore record “The Generation Of Danger”, which took them down an even more disruptive and chaotic path, with abrasive, hardcore style carnage and mathy rhythms. In between album releases, Tallah dropped singles “Vanilla Paste”, a large scale epic, featuring guest vocals from Chelsea Grin, Fire From The Gods and Guerilla warfare, as-well as their heavy hitting song “Hard Knock”, which featured elements of trap metal. The band is gearing up to take on the next stage of their journey, venturing into a sound that truly defines themselves as artists, and separates them entirely from the rest of the pack.
