MUSIC & MERCH: taleenkali.com/shop Hailing from her native Los Angeles, Taleen Kali composes romantic punk songs wrapped in layers of shoegaze, psychedelia, & grunge, creating a cosmic sound that's dreamy & defiant alike. With fiery live sets & swirling sonics, Taleen & her band quickly became a fixture of the L.A. underground. When her band TÜLIPS went out with a bang at their final headline show at The Regent Theater in 2016, Kali went solo, touring with Ex Hex, Alice Bag, & Seth Bogart. “Soul Songs” was the debut 2018 EP produced by Kristin Kontrol (Dum Dum Girls) & mixed by Brad Laner (Medicine). Recorded at Sunset Sound Studios in Hollywood, it received praise from Pitchfork, Stereogum, BUST, & L.A. Weekly. Taleen Kali's first full-length "Flower Of Life" came out in 2023 produced by The Smashing Pumpkins' Jeff Schroeder & Josiah Mazzaschi (Child Seat, Bizou, Light FM), & recorded at The Cave, home to albums by The Jesus and Mary Chain, IDLES, & members of Slowdive, The Smiths, Lush, The Kills, & Warpaint. The title track debuted as the LP's 1st single on KEXP & "Crusher" premiered on KCRW with heavy airplay by Henry Rollins. The band played 2 full U.S. tours to support the album. In 2024 Taleen Kali released the "Flower of Death" remixes & the "Covered" EP came out this February ahead of SXSW.
