Stimulator Jones

Stimulator Jones, aka Samuel Jones Lunsford, is a multi-instrumentalist, producer, DJ, vocalist and songwriter born and raised amongst the nature and wildlife of Roanoke, VA. Soon Never Comes got him a deal with Stones Throw Records in 2016 and was initially featured on Sofie's SOS Tape. In 2018 his debut album Exotic Worlds and Masterful Treasures dropped, followed by the Exotic Outtakes EP which was released in conjunction with a US tour. In May 2020 pop superstar Billie Eilish included Soon Never Comes on 'Billie Eilish At Home', an Amazon Music playlist she curated during the height of the COVID-19 lockdowns. January of 2021 marked the release of La Mano via the Oslo-based label Mutual Intentions - a groovy instrumental jazz/funk/fusion album that placed SJ's musicianship at the forefront and featured no programmed or sampled sounds. An instrumental beat anthology Low Budget Environments Striving For Perfection was released in July 2021 on Stones Throw - a document of SJ's lifelong love of hip hop production, consisting of raw beats he crafted on various samplers and hardware throughout multiple decades. Round Spiritual Ring dropped on Stones Throw in July 2022 which featured a return to soulful vocal-oriented song material yet simultaneously displayed further sonic expansion, touching on a variety of styles and sounds while lyrically showcasing a more personal, vulnerable side.
