Stigmata hailing from Colombo, Sri Lanka is truly the first of its kind. Since the ensemble’s inception over two decades ago, the band has forged a pathway for originality through gritted teeth, sheer iron will, unrivaled vision and a gift to intertwine musical prowess, captivating song craftsmanship, and amazing showmanship. From Stigmata’s impact on the very fabric of the performance art culture of the region to headlining and performing at global events: from Clubs and Pubs to Auditoriums to Amphitheaters and Stadiums - Stigmata has carried their nation's flag worldwide. The ensemble changed the infrastructure and face of the local music industry forever, inspiring a myriad of talent that has emerged island-wide. With a discography spanning four full-length albums (with the fifth opus on the way) over twenty songs released, headlining and representing Sri Lanka around the world, with accolades from being featured on the Discovery Channel and BBC Radio to MTV Asia and Triple J Radio. Stigmata continues to soar where few have dared and are celebrating their mammoth 21 year anniversary having signed up with Island Dreams Records (Serandip Music Group) and are working on their 5th album which is being mixed and mastered by UK production wiz Romesh Dodangoda (Motörhead, Bring Me The Horizon, Architects, Sylosis).
