Škofja Loka

Škofja Loka is a band from Belgrade which presents a vocal and instrumental playing entity with a transformative twist, yet a firm attitude - they play from a classic instrumental set-up to a "remix" performance with a more electronic base. This organism of furious rhythms is a mix-breed of live music and electronic sound waves, led by a vocal duo on heels “Puslice iz pakla” (Infernal meringues). The band was formed in the late spring of 2021. in Tricky Art Studio as a group of people who are audio and visual artists. Their music relies on the most diverse musical styles and trends of the 20th and 21st centuries, from rock'n'roll, through pop, afrobeat, funk, punk, electric boogie, noise and hip-hop. Their expression is a spontaneous combination and variation of these musical directions, as well as a mix of Belgrade's urban sound based on the new wave, across the alternative and urban pop scene of the ‘90s, to new forms, all that under the influence of the city and the midday in which they live in. The music is danceable and emotional, and the lyrics combine parts of the inner life of a modern woman with the external influences of the city environment, while the direction is an alternative to the gloomy reality of the big gray city and the shakiness of life. The band members described that direction as Women's Power Pop with a propensity to embrace each soulmate with open arms.
