SJAKO!

In the fall of 2022 the Sjako! members of the successful trio line-up from the early 90’s decided to get together and do a club tour to celebrate the release of their double LP: Sjako! The best of ’88-’95. To avoid becoming their own tribute band, they instinctively started writing new material for the live set. The many fans - old and new - that came to the concerts seemed to be expecting exactly that; the new songs and jams turned out to be the high lights of the night. Right after the tour was finished Sjako! went to Studio Vache à Louer in the Bourgogne in France to record these new songs. They recorded Frank Zappa’s I’m The Slime as well; it has been a Sjako!-tradition to add some Zappian magic ever since their album L’Amour Qui Fait… Boum! from 1988. Sound engineer and owner of the studio Dolf Planteijdt played a spooky-loopy guitar solo on “Exactly Nothing”. The album was finished and mixed in Amsterdam.
