Pumpegris

Pumpegris is a folk-fusion band that playfully mixes the old and new, the humorous and serious. Inspired by Norwegian folk music, west African music, shoegaze and the singer songwriter genre they make pop music. They focus on groove, Norwegian traditional dance tunes and witty yet bittersweet lyrics. They have played venues like Oslo Pride, Parkteateret, Kulturhuset and Riksscenen. Together with folk music label Ta:lik and producer Tuva Syvertsen they will release their first album spring of 2025. In their coming release they pick up references from West-African music, rap, singer-songwriter and shoegaze, taking a departure from witch-like folkrock into something more groovy, dirty and intimate.
