Priya Deepika

Priya Deepika is an attorney-turned sound healer and producer creating sonic pathways for healing, transformation and empowerment through music, ecstatic dance and holistic vocal training. Her music is inspired from her deep seeded roots in South India intertwined with Jazz, Blues, 90s R&B, House and Techno, witness the evolution of traditional to electronic music. Her upcoming album “Hear in My Heart” is her first solo music project where Indian raaga is blended English Lyrics creating a devotional soundscape. Together with a host of outstanding musicians and her producer Jonathan Hakakian, Priya integrates the ancient textures of medicine melodies with futuristic symphony of electronic sounds. Priya’s former project Avari was a response to experiencing American kirtan music at yoga festivals. An American born woman from S. Indian Vedic lineage, Priya is committed to bringing authentic devotional music inspired from Indian Classical traditions that is also eclectic and experimental. For the last 10 years She has been refining her craft as a musician, vocal coach, mediator, producer and artist in the sacred performing arts. Priya and her husband James live and work in Ojai, CA and produce Sound As Medicine experiences bridging music for healing and empower artist entrepreneurs.
