Pitch Black

Pitch Black comes from Portugal and was formed in December 1995 under the name of Withering, later changing its name in 2001. After the release of several demos (from 1996 to 2001), the highly acclaimed debut album “Thrash Killing Machine” is finally released in 2005 (Recital Recs). Second album “Hate Division” (released in 2009) on Recital Recs., was mastered at Hansen Studios (DEN) by Jacob Hansen (Destruction, Pestilence, Aborted, Hatesphere, Paradox). During 2010, the band is forced to step back for a long period, due to line-up changes. It was only in 2017 that the line-up was complete. In 2019 they release the single “We’re in Command” in digital format, which introduces the band’s new lead singer, Nuno Quaresma. In 2020 the split CD “Bastards United” is released on Firecum Recs., along with thrashers Booby Trap and Buried Alive. Includes 4 new songs and a cover song of the cult Portuguese Thrash Metal band Dove. So far, and since its original formation, Pitch Black has shared the stage on local shows and Metal Festivals with bands like The Haunted, Hatesphere, Mastodon, Exodus, Nuclear Assault, Mortician, Grave, Enthroned, Katatonia, Finntroll, Extreme Noise Terror, Tankard, Incantation, Varukers, Napalm Death, Onslaught, Textures, Benediction, Moonspell, Melechesh, Belphegor, Aborted, Dew-Scented, Impaled Nazarene, Obituary, Blind Guardian, Sepultura, Pestilence, Angra, Contradiction, Legion of the Damned, Sinister, Destruction, Suicidal Angels and others.
