nuovo aspetto was founded in 2011 by Michael Dücker, Johanna Seitz and Elisabeth Seitz. As the name suggests, by rediscovering baroque oeuvres for mainly unusual line-ups, the ensemble opens up ever new aspects on a repertoire which seemed long since exhausted. With their exquisite programmes, they present unique discoveries with the focus on the musical instruments hammered dulcimer, harp and lute. The ensemble's first CD, “Arie et Sinfonie“, is devoted to music by the nearly forgotten discoverer of Haydn, Georg Reutter. In 2014, their second CD “Dialoghi con l’Angelo“ was released, with music by oratorio composer Francesco Ratis from his collection of “Canzonette spirituale“ dating back to 1657. In 2015 nuovo aspetto together with counter tenor Valer Sabadus presented another CD with arias by Antonio Caldara, which won international acclaim. In his arias Caldaria always uses fascinating instrumental arrangements, whether they be opulent, virtuoso, tender or plaintive, involving the obbligato lute, viola, viola da gamba, violin or the chalumeau. In 2020, the CD „Il Gondoliere Veneziano. A musical journey through Venice” was released as a limited edition with Prospero label as a co-production with the WDR (Western German Broadcast station).. The CD has been nominated for the German record critics’ award as well as for the International Classical Music Award.
