Mt. Onsra
Rock / Alternative Rock
Mt. Onsra, the musical duo of Simon Allen and Russell Cleave, have released their second album 'Sacred Time' via South of Devon Records. Their journey, spanning nearly three decades, is chronicled in a new mini-documentary.
The pair's story began in 1995 when they formed a band and moved to London, only to part ways shortly after. For 20 years, they maintained sporadic contact without collaborating musically. The global pandemic rekindled their creative partnership, leading to their debut album 'Written in Silence'.
'Sacred Time' features previously released tracks like 'Universal', 'Emergent' (played on BBC Radio 1's Rock Show), and 'Fever Dream' (featured on the Kerrang! Chart). The album delves deeper into themes of searching for meaning, connection, and understanding.
Both Allen and Cleave are accomplished multi-instrumentalists, bringing their wealth of experience to the project. Their music is described as an emotional release, ranging from raw and intimate to orchestrated and loud. The album's creation process remained organic, mirroring their remote collaboration on the debut. Allen even recorded vocals at his home setup to maintain authenticity.
At its core, Mt. Onsra represents a story of enduring friendship, with music serving as the medium for their reconnection and shared exploration of life's deeper questions.
