Mama Said

Northern California based female-fronted rock band, Mama Said, has a distinctly retro sound inspired by classic rock of the late 70's/early 80's, and the classic rock revival of the early 90's. They manage to pay homage to the genre while avoiding the pitfall of sounding gimmicky. The 5-member band takes a back-to-basics approach, focusing on sultry vocals from Latifa Reeves & Jennifer Knight, plenty of vintage rock n’ roll guitar solos, and heavy drum beats.The result is stripped down, velvety tracks full of emotive lyrics and distorted guitars with an almost timeless sound.
