Macha Gharibian

Classically trained pianist, vocalist, singer/songwriter, composer, arranger and producer Macha Gharibian first discovered her own musical universe through immersing herself in the New York jazz scene. With Armenian ancestry, a Parisian heart, and a New Yorker by adoption, her new record spotlights her voice as an ode to life and testament to feminine power. Borrowing its name from a poem by the great Maya Angelou, Gharibian’s fourth album ‘Phenomenal Women’ is set to release on January 24th on Rue Bleue Meredith Records. Winner of the Victoires du Jazz in the Revelation category in 2020 for her third album Joy Ascension, Macha Gharibian also composes for film and live performances (Dance & Theater). Pianiste de solide formation classique, chanteuse, auteure-compositrice, compositrice, arrangeuse et productrice, Macha Gharibian commence à créer son propre univers musical en s'immergeant dans la scène jazz de New York à 25 ans. D'ascendance arménienne, son nouvel album la révèle sous un jour nouveau. Ode à la vie et témoignage du pouvoir féminin, elle emprunte son titre à un poème de Maya Angelou, et s’affirme résolument comme chanteuse avec son quatrième album Phenomenal Women, sorti le 24 janvier chez Rue Bleue/ Meredith Records (PIAS). Lauréate des Victoires du Jazz dans la catégorie Révélation en 2020 pour son troisième album Joy Ascension, Macha Gharibian compose également pour le cinéma et les performances en direct (Danse et Théâtre).
