Low Girl
Pop / Indie Pop
Low Girl is the work of multi-instrumentalist Sarah Cosgrove and her bandmates Toby, Tom and Brad. Described by DIY Magazine as “a peppy new pop talent”, the band released debut EP Big Now in May 2021 and haven’t looked back since. The EP was preceded by the release of the title track, which picked up support from BBC Radio 1, Radio X and was featured on the ‘New Music Fix’ playlist on BBC 6Music, as well as strong support from DIY, The Line of Best Fit and Spotify to name a few.
Always wanting to present bodies of work, Low Girl have released three EPs to date, alongside their four singles. Steve Lamacq is a big supporter at BBC 6music, with previous single ‘Bored’ going on to be playlisted, alongside Jack Saunders at BBC Radio 1, the station that made their second single ‘So Cool’ BBC Introducing TOTW. Spotify support has also been strong for the band, with three of their five single releases hitting the coveted New Music Friday UK playlists, as well as Hot New Bands, Fresh Finds and Melomania.
On Friday 5th January 2024, the band release another irresistible piece of alt-pop and their most ambitious single yet, ‘Icarus’. The track takes the band to a new level, cementing the exciting groundwork they have put in place over the last couple of years.
Icarus continues themes found across Low Girl’s music - feelings of loneliness, self-worth, mental health and the constant trials and struggles of finding one’s identity growing up.
