L’omelette weaves pop, jazz and punk into colourful, honest, genre-fluid tapestries. The Calgary art-rockers dart between prog and new-wave rock rhythms and synth-led dance pop, tethered by commanding melodies and concrete concepts. Their sophomore album, il faut qu’on bouge (we’ve gotta move), portrays a distillment of thematic content. Still digging into humanity, wellness and mental health, lyricist Meg dives into topics such as fast fashion, body image, rejection of socioeconomic pressures, and the delicate relationship between self and other.
