Lala Tamar


 Reclaiming her Morrocan heritage with an attitude, LALA is pop music’s new Eastern muse. With a powerful voice and striking feminine presence, LALA is transforming ancient Ladino hymns to punchy pop songs and dancefloor hits. 
 Following her passion for the lost language of Haketia, a rare dialect from Spanish Morrocco, LALA spent hours in Israel’s National Archive uncovering ethnographic recordings of Morroccan women immigrants. Smuggling the audio files out of the archive on her cellphone, LALA decided that these cultural relics will transform into Pop music for the world the hear. Joining forces with producer Ori Winokur (Asaf Avidan and the Mojos), LALA has completed work on her debut album (to be released 2019) and is currently on tour, moving every crowd she meets to their feet in jubilation, hands clapping
