Award-winning singer and composer, Kim Carnie, has featured on some of the UK's biggest stages and across the world via film and computer-game soundtrack, from Netflix's 'Outlaw King' and 'Black Mirror' to Hallmark's 'A Scottish Love Scheme'. Awarded Gaelic Singer of the Year 2021, Carnie has fast become one of Scotland's most in-demand vocalists and collaboration partners, having been commissioned to compose music for the Edinburgh Storytelling Centre, the Blas Festival, Piping Live and an upcoming independent documentary: Kim Carnie Out Loud.
2022 saw the release of her debut solo album 'And So We Gather' winning the German Critics Choice award and was shortlisted for MG Alba's Album of the Year. Recognised as one of the 'biggest folk and Gaelic records of the generation', Kim brought together some of the biggest names on the Scottish music scene, from Julie Fowlis to Donald Shaw, while also celebrating her love of world-music, featuring Senegalese Kora player Kadialy Kouyate and award-winning saxophonist Matt Carmichael.
Drawn towards cross-cultural collaboration, Kim has worked on a number of international projects, including with Griot royalty Trio Da Kali (Mali), Seckou Keita (Senegal), Kalakan (Basque Country), Cedric Watson(US/Creole) and most recently joined the prestigious Transatlantic Sessions tour (2024) with MD and GRAMMY-winner Jerry Douglas.
