Instar

INSTAR is the alias of David Woodward, a multi-instrumentalist and producer with a passion for electronic music. He fuses the melodies of pop, with the sounds and production of progressive house, while leaving room for the occasional guitar solo. With a degree in Computer Engineering, INSTAR is also known for building and programming his own LED mask which is synced with his music for live shows. Woodward began playing guitar at the age of 8. He played guitar at church, jazz band, and a pop/rock band throughout middle and high school. Woodward started producing at the age of 15 after buying protools with his birthday money and being inspired by artists such as Avicii and Daft Punk. He learned production under the mentorship of Dallas producers Jonathan Camacho and Christian ‘Chavi’ Chavarria. Currently, Woodward is a student at UNT, plays guitar with Little King, and is creating music from his bedroom studio in Denton Texas with the goal of releasing a song every month in 2020.
