Established 2003, deceased 2010 and reborn 2011, INFESTUS foremost and above all is dedicated to all-consuming darkness, its gentle hand that constantly chokes your shattered existence, a force that breaks all bonds between living things, and the fact that there is no escape and no catharsis for none of you, which ultimately leads to the inevitable consequence of becoming one with it. 2008: „Chroniken des Ablebens“ (CD/LP) intonated the moment of dying and expanding these fleeting seconds to the length of an album. 2011: With „Ex|Ist“ (CD), Andras was driven by the idea of thematising his innermost darkness, aiming to achieve the long-awaited catharsis through this creation. 2014: „The Reflecting Void“ (CD/LP) dealt with the sensation of inner emptiness as a deceptive reflection concealing repressed truths. 2018: „Thrypsis“ (CD/LP) introduced a pitch-black concept encapsulating what Andras defines as mental thrypsis: Continuous destabilization and degradation of the soul as consequence to a catastrophic event. The solo-project INFESTUS comes with a live-lineup. In addition to selected gigs, INFESTUS graced festivals such as Hellfest, Metaldays, Dark Easter Metal Meeting, and others. With his "highest-quality art, which has been among the best since 2011 in more experimental black metal“ (Legacy #117, 2018), Andras is spearheading another conceptual breakthrough with his upcoming album in 2024, catapulting INFESTUS back into the consciousness of morbid music enthusiasts.
