Ian James

Ian James is a Pop artist from Charleston, South Carolina, who has been featured in CCM Mag and New Release Today, the two biggest Christian music publications. Born and raised in Rochester, NY, Ian decided to pursue a solo career in early 2019, wanting to be a light to others through his own personal stories. He released his debut single “I Look Up” in 2019, followed by his most popular song to date, “Will for Me" in early 2020. After a year-long hiatus from music, during which Ian says he "truly needed to hit the reset button in all areas of life, to gain a fresh perspective," he released his 2021 single "By My Side." It was accompanied by a powerful music video addressing the prevalent topic of mental health, and showcased his own life journey. His latest single "In My Head" signals Ian's jump into mainstream pop, detailing the difficulty of moving on from someone who hurt you badly in a relationship. Ian hopes to bring light to those struggling and in need of kindness and compassion. His music is inspired by raw, personal experiences shaping who he is. Ian says, "I have always had friendships with people from all different backgrounds, regardless of faith or beliefs. I've always connected to all types of people, and never been sheltered into just one type of community. Sharing my stories through my music doesn't have to divide or alienate others. So my whole goal is to be that bridge between people, and I hope my lyrics speak and relate to people in all walks of life."
