Holy Gloam

Holy Gloam are a 4 piece alt rock/shoegaze band from North Wales/NW England. Formed by songwriter Julian Neale in 2021, the band played a smattering of live shows around the Chester/Wrexham area in the first half of 2022 leading up to the release of Welsh Music Prize longlisted debut album 'Small Nothings'. More studio time in 2023 with Ben Dempsey Sawin (Mowbird/Eitha Da) led to 3 new songs, all released digitally between 2023/24. Latest single 'Fall into Innocence' was recorded at Bill Ryder-Jones' Yawn studio in West Kirby, alongside another track recorded at the same session that will make up a double A side, available from October 2024 Reviews of live performances have led to sound comparisons to Teenage Fanclub, Dinosaur Jr and Sugar, amongst others. ..with songs that started out sounding like The Stone Roses drifting into Dinosaur Jnr/psych grunge territory. The singer, with his deep baritone, slightly frail vocal underpinned a dense and intricate soundscape that you could lose yourself in - Louder than War Holy Gloam’s dream pop tinged two track cassette The Sun Has Set On My Heart, is a multi-layered grower with hints of Ride after a night of excess.
