Heavy//Hitter

Packing a palpable punch, Heavy//Hitter convert chaos into caustic, controlled, and catchy deathcore straight out of Orlando, FL. The quartet—Austin Hayes [vocals], Dane Loeprich [guitar], Chris Perez [bass], and Josh Archeval [drums]—throw down and create face-to-face, infusing their signature sound with blood, sweat, and tears. “We only write when the four of us are together in the same room,” notes Austin. “It’s a lot more fun to be with your boys and come up with a song in the moment rather than just share ideas online. It’s more real too.” Heavy//Hitter have always been unabashedly and undeniably real. Since 2019, the band have buzzed as an underground upstart. Fan favorite tracks a la “Spit,” “Suspect,” and “Sting of the Butterfly” bulldozed the way for the Street Violence EP in 2021. Gaining traction throughout 2023, “Wall of Wax” gathered over 1.6 million Spotify streams followed by “Paved in Blood” with 750K Spotify streams. Meanwhile, they picked up plugs from Lambgoat, Lawnchair Youth, and more. Between packing houses live, they caught the attention of Blue Grape Music and signed to the label. 2024 saw the guys decamp to Los Angeles where they recorded “Moments of Misery” with producer Austin Coupe. Inspired by the likes of Suicide Silence, Knocked Loose, and Carnifex, they refined an “OG deathcore sound with newer hardcore and metalcore elements,” according to the fontman.
