SEATTLE ALT // R&B BAND MEMBERS: JEANIE: VOX - DEMARCUS: GUITAR - CORY: BASS - JACOB: KEYS - JOJI: DRUMS Heavy Bloom is an indie soul band that began in a tiny, over-priced, one-bedroom apartment on the north end of Capitol Hill. The apartment building was a quick construction for the 1962 World’s Fair in Seattle so it wasn’t pretty, but at least it had a pool in the basement. It was there that Joji and Jeanie composed their first song together called “Fig.” A few years went by and they moved to a slightly-nicer-yet-still-over-priced unit down the street at Summit and Mercer, where Jeanie composed “Bitter Love” and “No Matter What”. After that, they brought on Cory on bass, Demarcus on guitar, and Jacob on keys; the rest is history. The vocally driven group is equal parts R&B, Soul, and Pop producing a fresh and enticing sound. Their unique approach to music production attracts a wide audience - from those who seek a familiar sound to those who crave something new.
