Haystack Mountain Hermits

Hailing from southeast Queensland, the Haystack Mountain Hermits are a multi-award-winning family band with a remarkable story. Their musical journey began during a 7-month trip around Australia in 2011 when the family embarked on a busking adventure. As they travelled the long stretches of the A1, iconic locations became their stage, and the four children, aged 7, 9, 11, and 13, honed their musical skills in the back of the van. Surprising even themselves, the Hermits found that busking had become an essential part of their lives. Their undeniable talent soon earned them numerous awards, including titles at the Queensland, Tamworth and Australian Busking Championships. In 2019, the band released their debut EP "Going Home", serving as an introduction to their captivating sound. Their next release in 2021 was inspired by their Great-Grandfather's experiences during WWI. The Haystack Mountain Hermits transitioned to festival performances. Their captivating stage presence and exceptional musicianship led them to iconic Australian festivals, including Groundwater, Gympie Music Muster, Tamworth Country Music Festival, Woodford Folk Festival, and many others. They were invited to perform at the National Folk Festival and given the honour of showcasing their Anzac ballad at the televised Dawn Service at Currumbin RSL, which reached millions of viewers worldwide. The band's stunning film clip accompanying "The Horses Stay Behind (One Last Ride)," was released on Anzac Day 2023.
