Fuzz Lightyear

Fuzz Lightyear is a music project originating from Torre del Greco (NA) that delves into visionary and immersive soundscapes. The style, entirely instrumental, stands out for its unique blend of stoner and space rock guitars, accompanied by electronic textures crafted with a Roland SP404SX sampler. Rhythmic and melodic foundations, created using pre-recorded drum and bass lines, are interwoven with pads generated on a Roland Juno synthesizer, used both in the studio and live performances. Vocal samples extracted from sci-fi-themed films, interviews, and documentaries enrich the sound, resulting in an auditory journey that spans pure ambient, acid rock, neo-psychedelia, and space rock, transporting listeners on an interstellar mental voyage. Fuzz Lightyear emerged in August 2023 as an artistic evolution of Kurt Wild, who had been active for over a decade with Sex Excess, an alternative Neapolitan band that embraced stoner rock influences in recent years. Initially conceived as a duo with Giovanni Scl, an electronic music aficionado, Fuzz Lightyear became a solo project in the spring of 2024. Kurt Wild now handles every creative aspect, from recording to live performances. Key influences include King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard, Tame Impala, Aphex Twin, Kraftwerk, Neu, Queens of the Stone Age, Nebula, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, Dead Meadow, Goat, Elephant Stone, Uncle Acid & The Dead Beats, and many others.
