First Time Flyers release new single 'Stay' ‘Stay’ is a poignant declaration of the decision to stay with someone even in the face of an uncertain future. The song is inspired by the personal experiences of Poppy from the band who reflects on her own journey through a relationship where trust and past hurt created a powerful emotional tug of war. “The song tells the story of someone trying to navigate the delicate balance between supporting a person with deep emotional scars” says Poppy “and realizing when it may be time to step away for self-preservation, but is it too late? Have they already fallen too hard?” ‘Stay’ had its first play on the Vernon Kay show on BBC Radio 2 on Friday March 14th, the first day of the Country 2 Country Festival (C2C) and the band also appeared on the show playing against each other on Ten to The Top. “It set us up nicely for C2C weekend where we opened up the Indigo stage on Saturday morning and played to a full house” says Vicki, “we then played to a massive crowd at the Big Entrance stage in the afternoon” ‘Stay’ is not only a reflection of personal experience but a universal anthem for anyone who has struggled with the decision to stay in a relationship that is both rewarding and painful. Looking ahead for the rest of the year the band will shortly be announcing details of their debut album due for release in September and their biggest UK tour to date. With a summer full of festivals 2025 is going to be non-stop for First Time Flyers.
