The New York-based artist first appeared with remixes of songs by [wimpLink artistId="3718626"]How to Dress Well[/wimpLink] and [wimpLink artistId="5473036"]Wildarms[/wimpLink] before Acéphale released her debut EP, [wimpLink albumId="33594931"]Doss[/wimpLink], in 2014. The release's airy yet ecstatic dance tracks and rave flyer graphics harkened back to the '90s while pointing to the future -- one of Recycle Culture's mixes of lead single "The Way I Feel" was titled "Hyperpop Remix," several years before the term hyperpop reached widespread usage. [wimpLink artistId="24198657"]Doss[/wimpLink] was also featured on [wimpLink artistId="4619614"]Ryan Hemsworth[/wimpLink]'s single "Surrounded," from his EP [wimpLink albumId="332743419"]Alone for the First Time[/wimpLink]. [wimpLink artistId="24198657"]Doss[/wimpLink] toured with [wimpLink artistId="9212130"]SOPHIE[/wimpLink] in 2018 and remixed her song "Whole New World." She also performed DJ sets at [wimpLink artistId="3836727"]Porter Robinson[/wimpLink]'s online festival Secret Sky and [wimpLink artistId="3534754"]Lady Gaga[/wimpLink]'s virtual album release party in 2020.
