Distant Past

Classic Heavy Metal band from Switzerland, Distant Past was formed in 2002 by Adriano Troiano (Bass) as a studio project. Former Emerald singer Jvo, joined in 2014, turning it into a live band together with Remo Herrmann (ex-Suborned) on Drums, Ben Sollberger (ex-Under my Skin) on Guitars and Lorenz Laederach (ex-Grasburg) on Guitars form the current group. The band produces classic Heavy Metal without any traces of modern sounds or synthesizers. Clean, sawing guitars, fast pounding drums, machine gun bass and powerful vocals, just like in the glory days., reminding you to bands such as Reveal, Ankhara or NURCRY. They have released four studio albums beginning with Alpha Draconis in 2010, Utopian Void in 2014, Rise of the Fallen in 2016 and with the current troupe, the album The Final Stage was created in 2021. The Swiss metalheads treat each album like a work of art: the cover art has multiple visual meanings and the lyrics are deeply rooted beyond the classic heavy metal imaginery: ancient aliens, myths, utopia views, armageddon, religion and science fiction.
