Dekoor Close Harmony

Jazz, pop, gospel, classical. Sometimes fragile, minimal, and subdued. Often ecstatic, and bursting with energy. Young, enthusiastic, sexy, talented, confident, and sincere. Prepare to be moved and blown away! Dekoor Close Harmony consists of 31 young, musically talented students from Utrecht. Dekoor sings mostly in the genres jazz, gospel and pop, but its repertoire also stretches to classical, and other styles. Led by music director Christoph Mac-Carty, Dekoor either performs a capella or accompanied by a jazz combo. In the past years, Dekoor has performed its own show in many theaters in the Netherlands, its home country, performed at several national TV-shows, but have also collaborated with internationally known artists such as the Rolling Stones and Damien Rice in some of the largest concert halls and festivals of the Netherlands. In the summer of 2016 and 2018, Dekoor blew away an international audience at Hungary’s famous Sziget Festival! Any description of Dekoor would be incomplete without naming its trophy cabinet. Dekoor has won several national titles in choral singing, but it’s also been named world champion in the categories Jazz and Gospel at the World Choir Games in Korea (2023) and Jazz and Pop at the World Choir Games in China, the United States, Latvia, and South Africa (2010, 2012, 2014, 2018). In 2022 Dekoor won the category pop/gospel/spiritual/folk at the Concours International Choral en Provence (France).
