Daniel Matoušek comes from Ústí nad Labem. In the beginning he worked on his singing technique with Jan Vacík, Antonio Carangelo, Eva Randová and Jarmila Chaloupková. Currently he is under the guidance of Kateřina Kněžíková and Adam Plachetka. Since the 2022/23 season he has been a permanent member of the National Theatre Opera, where he makes his debuts in the 24/25 season as Nemorino (The Drink of Love), Don Ottavio (Don Giovanni) and Edmondo (Manon Lescaut). He also appears in major roles of the tenor repertoire, such as Rinuccio, Tamino, Tybalt (Gounod), Dalland's The Helmsman, Beppe (The Comedians), etc. In addition to the Czech opera scene, he has been a guest at several German and Italian open air festivals (e.g. Opera Classica Europa) and also at the Slovak National Theatre in Bratislava and the National Theatre Košice. He participated in the iSING festival in China, where he was selected from 2500 singers from all over the world. He has performed with distinguished singing colleagues such as Kateřina Kněžíková, Zuzana Marková, Dagmar Pecková, Adam Plachetka, Štefan Margita, Mariusz Kwiecień, Atalan Ayan, Konu Kim, Hao Jiang Tian, Damiano Salerno, José Luis Maldonado, Luis Cansino, and others. In September 2024, Radioservice released his debut album entitled O sole mio - an album of Italian and Neapolitan songs.
