CUPRUM

The band Cuprum formed in 2006 after what turned out to be a particularly satisfying pub jam session. There we agreed to write songs in the '60s and '70s style, and soon, we got the right equipment to achieve the authentic sound of that era. Despite the current middle-age tiredness, we are determined to continue playing till the judgment day as Richard Malát (flute, guitar, lead vocal), Jan Ježek (drums), Jaromír Hynek (bass), Jan Drchal (electric guitar), and Štěpán Vodenka (keyboards). About half of what we do are instrumentals; the rest are songs with lyrics in Czech. Mainly, they deal with death, alcohol, or space travel. Among our influences are the Czechoslovak jazz-rock and the British Canterbury scene.
