The Queen of Compassion and Soul is the founder of The Greater New Orleans Citizens Relief Team, Chip Forstall Jingle Star and Elite Ms. Louisiana Petite 2025. A Jamaican-American singer, WWOZ host, producer, actress, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and organizer, Cole Williams is described by Medium as “a powerhouse of political action, motivated to help others through her music.” After releasing her single, A Better Woman on Golden Rules in 2023, Cole regained international recognition on the UK charts and BBC6, her sound heavily influenced by 1960s soul music, and received recognition in the UA & ISC Songwriting Competitions as a semifinalist. Her album, "Give Power To The People" (2021) with her New Orleans-based collective, The Cole Williams Band, incorporated elements of R&B, gospel, Americana, and social justice-fueled lyrics, establishing her status as a Cultural Broker. During her musical career, Cole has collaborated with many artists, such as Joey Bada$$, Nickedeumus, Macy Gray, Walter “Wolfman” Washington, and Aloe Blacc. In recognition of her talent, Williams received a Best of the Beat Nomination for Best Female Vocalist from OffBeat Magazine in 2017. She is a certified leader In Nonprofits by the Greater New Orleans Foundation. Her debut performance at the New Orleans Jazz And Heritage Festival in 2016 with The Cole Williams Band ranked her as a staple in the New Orleans music community.
