Pop / Ohio Indie / Pop
For Ohio based Americana band Chloe & the Steel Strings, life as a working musician isn’t so much a choice as a necessity.
Fronted by vocalist Chloe Wagenhauser and bassist Connor Ward, “Chloe & the Steel Strings’ latest album ‘Burn Bright’ has a sound reminiscent of early Poco, Fairport Convention, & the Grateful Dead: It’s like Joan Baez or Joni Mitchell had a baby with The Flying Burrito Brothers.” - Fred LeFebvre, (92.9 WSPD, iHeartRadio)
Stuck at home with a sound board, laptop, and pent up creativity, Chloe & Connor wrote and recorded ‘Burn Bright’ from their living room during the COVID-19 stay at home order.
Backed by identical twin keyboardist Anna Wagenhauser, lead guitarist Eric Stuehr, and drummer Cody Podsiadlo, the band’s music has remnants of singer-songwriter mellowness and a dash of psychedelic headspace.
“Chloe & the Steel Strings’ new record, Burn Bright, is one of the most stunning and beautiful Americana rooted recordings to come out of the area in years. Chloe’s voice is controlled and melodic and calls to mind a grainy, jazz and country-fueled mix of influences including Emmylou Harris, Margo Timmins, and Norah Jones.” - Alan Goldsmith, (106.1 FM, Toledo)
“Life as a gigging musician is an adventure. We trade stability for the chance to express ourselves. Most days, despite its challenges, I’m surprised by what an easy choice it is.”
