Chicastro

Born as Sinesipho Gxowa better known as Chicastro is a self made music producer, dancer and a disc jockey who plays and produces all genres. Chicastro’s primary genre since the beginning of his music journey has been always Afrotech/Afrohouse music. Chicastro fell in love with the genre and focused on producing more of his music on it, though he has production credits on other genres. The test of his Dj skills started Verona’s Lounge and at Ubumnandi Festival in Hermanus & his craft has grown throughout the Western Cape. Some of the venues he has played at includes Seek Lounge, Hood Natives, Djs Inn, Chippa’s Place, Worcester Lounge as well events like New Wave Alert, New Year’s Eve in Worcester, July Babies: Mavala Birthday Celebration, Ubumnandi Festival & Ungazincish Nice Time Festival. Him joining forces with the we’ll acknowledge management team of Mavala Media Space, Chicastro debuted “Gentle Grooves” EP. The project charted on top 100 on Apple Music’s Electronic Dance Music charts, something that sparked high potential needs to be unleashed. As of 2023, he is set to release his debut album with highly decorated & acknowledged guests in and outside Western Cape.
