Carter Windham
Country / Country
Carter Windham is a Nashville-based singer/songwriter known for his honest lyrics, soulful rasp, and rooted sound. Steeped in the rich storytelling of classic Texas Country & Americana, Carter’s music draws inspiration from artists such as the great Robert Earl Keen, modern western icon Ryan Bingham, and country music’s outlaw, Eric Church. A native of Bossier City, Louisiana, Carter’s musical allure began early. Once an aspiring country star herself, his mother instilled a deep love for music in him as a child. His older brother William, a trained A Capella vocalist and life-long musician, taught him his first notes on the guitar, which sparked his desire to one day pursue a career as a songwriter.
At age 25, Carter is now manifesting that dream. In the Summer of 2022, he and producer Ben Somerville recorded Carter’s debut single “Missin’ from Mississippi.” As a 2020 graduate of the University of Mississippi (Ole Miss), Carter wrote the song about the nostalgia felt upon returning to one’s college town as a graduate and all the people and places that change over time. “Missin’ from Mississippi is set to release on all platforms October 14, 2022.
