Briana Calhoun
Country / Americana/Alt Country
Bio:
Briana Calhoun is a singer/songwriter from Louisiana with an eclectic style of Country, Pop, Americana, and Rock.
Originally born in Dallas, Tx., she learned to love music at an early age from her mother and grandfather — both musicians. She moved to Louisiana at the age of 12 and can safely attest that writing songs was her saving grace during some difficult times to follow.
“I went through a lot of personal and family struggles in my teens and early 20’s and writing was my way to get outside of my situation and comfort myself. I think my songs are very relatable, especially to other women, because I know I’m not the only one who has felt the range of emotions my music covers. I’d like to believe my songs help others get through whatever they might be battling— it’s about self-empowerment.”
If you come to one of her shows, you’re likely to hear a wide variety of acoustic covers and originals. Some of Briana's favorite artists to cover are Chris Stapleton and Ed Sheeran, but she also enjoys classics and contemporaries.
Briana’s original music is comparable to the styles of Maren Morris and Kacey Musgraves.
Her songs are available on iTunes, Spotify and all major streaming services. She released her EP “Learn Girl" on February 14, 2020, which has been picking up traction on a national scale ever since. Links to her music and social media can be found on her website http://www.brismusic.com
