Big River

Back in 2016 four guys from Kent arranged to meet in a Dartford pub. Damo Fawsett ( Guitar ) and Ant Wellman ( Bass ) who had already toured together in The Reagan Browne band met up with Adam Bartholomew ( Vocals ) and Luke Calvert ( Drums ) who also had been in previous bands together. The discussion on the day was to start a covers band playing the likes of Free, Bad Company and Rival Sons. This is exactly what they did and they hit the North Kent music scene and quickly made a name for themselves on the blues circuit. As the band evolved so did the music and they started to write original songs that were more blues rock than the traditional blues Damo had originally intended for the band. Adam started writing the lyrics to riffs and licks that Damo had come up with. These were then taken to rehearsals where Luke and Ant would add in the rhythm section. Straight away the whole band knew that the songs they were coming up with were pretty damn good and stood up very well against the covers they were already playing. First release was Hometown Hustler with its heavy chords, gruff vocals and hard hitting drums. Next up was Blues Blood Baby, more of a traditional blues song. As they recorded more the songs got better. Luke Calvert made way for multi-instrumentalist & songwriter Joe Martin to take over the drum throne. Their debut album ‘Redemption’ was released in August 2019.
