Benedek Horváth

BENEDEK HORVÁTH started playing the violin and piano at the age of five, but then decided to concentrate on the piano. After graduating from the Franz Liszt Academy of Music in Budapest with a master's degree Budapest, he decided to study in the class of Claudio Martínez Mehner in Basel. In his formal studies, he has worked with many great musicians such as András Schiff, Dimitri Bashkirov, Menahem Pressler, Ferenc Rados and Zoltán Kocsis.His concerts have taken him to over 20 different countries around the world. In 2019, he performed with his trio Trio Eclipse at the prestigious Lucerne Festival. Benedek is also the winner of many prestigious competitions. In 2016, Benedek released his first solo album with Artalinna. Under the label Prospero Classical, two more recordings were released in 2020. In December 2022, his new solo album with Bach's Goldberg Variations was released under IAN Records. In addition to his work as a concert pianist, Benedek is currently an at the Hochschule für Musik Basel. Besides music, he loves taking photos and shot his first short film 'The Fourth Voice' to complement his recording of Bach's Goldberg Variations. www.benedekhorvath.com
