Up-and-coming Banksia is coming into his own in 2024. The San Francisco-based DJ has already shared stages with Ewan McVicar, Bicep, DJ Seinfeld, Overmono, Moodymann, Mount Kimbie, O'Flynn, and Peggy Gou. First impressions of his deftness as a producer were made with an inaugural release on Rüfüs Du Sol’s Rose Avenue imprint. Eager to inhabit and nurture his own spot within the electronic music bubble, Ordinary Pleasures is the budding label that he’s launched to kickstart a release run of genre-spanning records. As far as bagging high praise goes from a debut EP, the post has been set high. Merging influences from an upbringing in Southern Africa and UK club culture, his two-tracker Tala drew support and praise from Mixmag, Inverted Audio, DMY, Rinse FM, dublab, KEXP, Beats In Space and SiriusXM.
