Aviya Kopelman

Most of my music is on Bandcamp and personal website www.aviya.info I release piano pieces under moniker profile Bianca Piana AVIYA Kopelman is a multi-genre musician and composer, born in Moscow, creating in Israel and working with ensembles from all over the world. Her music spreads from song writing, through modern jazz fusion, to symphonic and chamber contemporary classical compositions. She is the Israel Prime Minister Prize for Composition recipient and serves since 2013 as composer-in-residence of the Jerusalem Symphony Orchestra. Kopelman's concert music includes a commissioned work "Widows & Lovers" for the Kronos Quartet, as forth recipient of the "Kronos: Under 30” project, where she was competing with over 200 composers from all over the world. Her latest collaborations include San Francisco Girls Chorus and Victoria Hanna. Kopelman is also a songwriter - her art-pop album MINORITY was released in 2021, featuring the leading singer Ella Joy Meir also known as Iris Lune. Another notable project was forming the Jazz Fusion ensemble Turquoise Project. In many of her concert music pieces too, she blurs the common division of concert and non-concert medium by using contemporary rock and pop melodies, harmonies, rhythm and instrumentation, and also cooperates with non-classical musicians such as Yair Dalal and Sameer Makhoul on oud, the singer Ruth Dolores Weiss , and more.
