Ahmed Ololade aka ‘Asake aka Mr Money’ is a fast rising singer-songwriter in Nigeria. Born in the 90’s and raised by very Yoruba parents in Lagos Island. He had a pretty normal upbringing and a lot of energy. He graduated from Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife where he holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the Department of Theatre and Performing Arts.His journey into music was purely accidental. He started as a dancer and worked with a myriad of dance companies and theatre outfits in school before trying his hand in music. He frontlined a few shows in school, his AfroFusion style and the energy he brought on stage made him a crowd favorite. Asake rose to critical acclaim in early 2020, when his freestyle Lady (2020) went viral. Reposts from Tunde Ednut, Dancing and Skits by Sydneytalker, NastyBlaq, shout outs from Broda Shaggi, to mention a few, pushed him into the limelight and he quickly became a household name. Asake’s music is mostly centered on his lifestyle, his name which means specially chosen for pampering, reflects this and he has shown us that severally in his hit songs. His latest single on the market Mr Money (2020), has Asake telling us his energy is pure and nobody should call him out for being true to his name. In 2020 alone, he was nominated in 3 categories of the City People Music Awards and went home with 2 wins under his belt. One of the categories being, Most Popular Song of the Year. He also featured in Broda Shaggi’s single Star (2020) and can be heard in DJ Xclusive’s new track Gegeti (2020) with Young John.Other notable songs in his repertoire are Kanipe (2019), Body (2020), African Something (2020)
