Arne Jansen

Arne Jansen NL

Jazz / Contemporary Blues / Smooth Jazz
Arne Jansen's music career as a guitarist is characterised by diversity. For many years, he has been heard with Nils Wülker or Jazzanova, also alongside Sebastian Studnitzky or even with the Senegalese Orchestra Baobab. It is obvious that he owns an immensely independent and versatile sound language. The Süddeutsche Zeitung called him "one of the best and most versatile German guitarists". Now none other than Pat Metheny has suggested that he should return to his own musical roots. For Arne Jansen it was a recall of his childhood and the lasting sound impressions of Mark Knopfler and Dire Straits. A coincidental encounter with long-term consequences. Which was enormously fortunate for the german music scene. "There hasn't been a jazz guitarist of the calibre of the Berlin-based Arne Jansen in Germany for decades. Perhaps never before," was the verdict of the jazz magazine Jazzthetik on Jansen's abilities on his instrument, which have earned him two "ECHO Jazz" awards for the albums "The Sleep of Reason - Ode to Goya" and "Nine Firmaments", among others. "Going Home" is the most personal recording of the guitarist, who is known as a congenial string partner of the trumpeter Nils Wülker, among others. Jansen takes the listeners on a journey to the roots of his passion for music.
