ANGLES

After cutting their teeth in several shows in China, in October 2022, ANGLES recorded fifteen songs, most of which were written during historical two-month-long lockdown in Shanghai from April to June 2022. All the songs were recorded in three days at Boneyard Studios in Shanghai, with the help of the band's good friend Chriest Yu (Alpaca, Chimera Cult). Then, Christopher Henry (Fuck Your Birthday, Humans Etcetera) - who also contributed to one of the songs - took charge of the mixing process. Shortly after the recording, Alessandro (drums, vocals) and Livio (bass, vocals) left China for good and moved back to Italy. Because of this major shift and in order to have more time for the production process, the band decided to split the tracks into two albums 《OBTUSE》 and 《ACUTE》 each one representing a different stage of self-awareness that the band members experienced during the harsh conditions of the Shanghai lockdown and zero-covid policy. After leaving China, Alessandro and Livio decided to keep the band alive and recruited Alessandro's former band member Mattia Zoccarato (My Tie Is Evil) on guitars, to take over from Larry Miller (Spill Your Guts). Shortly after their return in Italy, the Italian independent label INRI released and distributed ANGLES’s first single,《Triggers》 and their debut album 《OBTUSE》. Their second single《Long Call》was released on Feb 2nd 2024, anticipating their upcoming album《ACUTE》.
